SPECTATORS (VENUE CAPACITY)

The Core and the OCF are aware that the allocation of spectator spots in the online booking system is now full, while some individuals have not yet been able to purchase a ticket.

Given the capacity limitations of the facility and the flow needed for the athletes during the competition, we are asking all spectators to arrive 10 minutes prior to your athlete climbing, and do your best to depart as soon as their climbing is complete. This is essential in order to ensure athletes are able to have family members watch them compete while keeping everyone safe in the event of an emergency.

This will also allow those who have not been able to purchase a ticket in advance online to be able to purchase a ticket upon arrival to the gym. We thank you for your understanding as we try and ensure our athletes all have their spectators support them during their time on the wall!

ISOLATION INFORMATION

Please note that athletes and coaches will be in an ISO area that is in the unit next door (Unit #2) to The Core Climbing Gym (Unit #1). Athletes and coaches will enter through the main entrance of this unit to check in, and will be there until it is their turn to climb. Athletes will be escorted out of the back of Unit #2 and brought to the competition area through the back entrance of Unit #1.

This ISO area will have a washroom and a portable climbing wall has been installed for warmup. We encourage athletes to bring warm clothing as the unit, while heated, is otherwise empty and so is quite cool.

Please see the image below for a visual representation.

Registration

This event is open to all D, C, B, A, Junior and Adult athletes with an OCF Competitive Membership who qualified for Boulder Provincials.

Registration for all qualified athletes is now open. Please click here to register.

Please note the registration deadline for all qualified athletes is Monday, March 18 @ 5pm. Following that date, quota spots will be allocated to the next athlete in the qualification list.

Qualified Athletes

The OCF will allow Foreign Nationals to compete in Boulder Provincials where they qualify. Where a Foreign National takes the spot of an Ontario resident athlete, we have extended the qualification to include all quota spots by Ontario resident athletes. The lists below have also been updated to reflect this change.

Application Process

The OCF is opening an application process for anyone who was unable to attend both Boulder Qualification events. Note that there would need to be significant extenuating circumstances for the OCF to grant permission for an athlete who did not participate in a Qualifier to then attend Provincials. If you feel this applies to you, the application link is below, and the deadline is Friday, March 15 at 5pm.

Please click here to submit your application.

Volunteers

Please click here to register as a volunteer!

We are working with The Core Climbing Gym and registering volunteers for Provincials. The Core is kindly offering both lunch AND a free day pass to all volunteers.

We will need the following roles filled throughout both days of the event, given the format:

  • ISO Monitors for both the mornings and afternoons - this is a vital role at Provincials which requires substantial help. We will move people around so individuals are able to watch some of the climbing.

  • Competitions Judges: 40 for each of the morning and afternoon on Saturday, and 32 for the morning and afternoon on Sunday!

  • Anyone can join as a judge, and we will ensure any new judges will be paired with someone with experience, and that you will be able to watch your child climb if you are there to watch them.

  • The online training is FREE - please click here for more information

  • Other roles: volunteers to help with registration and scoring, though the roles above are critical to get volunteers to sign up.
