Board of Directors

OCF directors each serve a 2-year term, overlapping such that 4 or 5 of the directors’ terms expire each year. New directors are elected each year at the Annual General Meeting. 

The OCF Board meets once or twice a month. Meetings are held virtually.

  • Sean Ganann, Chair

    In a 20+ year career, Sean has held leadership roles in advertising, marketing and creative organizations in NYC, Sydney and Toronto.

    He has extensive experience shaping communications for many of the World’s leading brands and companies from McDonald’s to BMW to Amazon to HBO.

    His daughter is a competitive climber in the Youth B category. He is an equally enthusiastic but far less accomplished climber, a lifelong cyclist and outdoor enthusiast.

  • Rachel Robson, Director at Large

    Rachel is a former competitive climber and longtime OCF volunteer, with 15 years of combined experience. She is currently serving as Head Judge with the OCF for the 2024/2025 season.

    Formally educated as a Primary Care Paramedic, Rachel has experience working with sport organizations in a medical and leadership capacity, including Ontario and Canada Summer Games, the Ontario Hockey League, and the NBA G League.

  • Heidi Wittke, Secretary

    Heidi Wittke is a dynamic and versatile pharmacy leader with extensive experience across pharmacy operations, clinical programs, specialty services, and long-term care. She combines deep operational expertise with strategic vision, consistently driving innovation and growth while maintaining a strong focus on patient care and regulatory compliance.

  • Patrick Speissegger, Treasurer

    Patrick grew up in Switzerland, where he earned a diploma in Mathematics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne.  He then moved to the U.S. for his PhD in Mathematics (Illinois).  The wandering ended when he landed in Hamilton, where he has been a professor of Mathematics at McMaster for twenty-plus years.  He is fluent in German, French and English, and he enjoys outdoor activities in every season.  As a parent of a climber, he has also taken to bouldering a bit himself.

  • Jessie Blake - Registrar

    Jessie is a passionate advocate and volunteer for youth activities including mountain biking, safe cycling, trail running, and more recently, climbing. She has volunteered as a judge with the OCF since her oldest son started competing in 2020 and served as co-Volunteer Coordinator and OCF committee member since 2024. Now with three sons excited about competitive climbing, she is more committed than ever to the organization, Professionally Jessie has worked as a Chemist with Health Canada for 15 years. She brings with her significant experience in risk assessment and management, organizational leadership, and communication. Outside of work, she loves all things outdoors and can be found around the country mountain biking with her family, canoe tripping in Temagami and Algonquin, or skiing wherever they can find snow. She was first introduced to the world of climbing as an outlet while working on her PhD in Ottawa and has remained an avid "beginner" climber for 20+ years.

  • Denny Choe - Director At Large

    Denny Choe is an elementary school principal with many years of experience in athletics. He graduated with an Honours degree in BSc Kinesiology and has held many coaching and conditioning positions in various sports and organizations and continue to be involved in many sports as an athlete and as the President of the East Region Athletic Association.

  • Kian Monjezi - Director At Large

    Kian Monjezi is a climbing coach, setter, and community contributor dedicated to growing

    climbing in Ontario. He has been part of the Ontario Climbing Federation since 2014 - first as a youth athlete, and now as a coach helping others access the same opportunities that shaped his journey. Kian played a role in organizing and supporting the Six Nations climbing wall project, where he helps facilitate climbing sessions and contributes route setting expertise.
